At this point I think it’s safe to say I’m never going to get around to playing Ninja Gaiden Black. I’ve tried several times, and had made some progress, but I have to face facts that it’s just not going to happen.
I somehow missed the boat with Ninja Gaiden Black, but I don’t plan on repeating the error when Ninja Gaiden II comes out for the 360 in a few months.
Until then, goodbye Ryu - see you in all your HD glory soon.

Today I’m shipping out Turok, to Hawaii of all places (ALOHA!).
I’ve said before, the game itself isn’t terrible however it’s not great either. Turok lives in the middleground of ‘just okay’. It has a few things going for it such as the lush environments, the bow & arrow and the knife and frickin dinosaurs! Unfortunately, it has a bit too much working against it, such as ‘where the hell am i supposed to go’ levels, uber-dark levels, frustrating checkpoints, and just being a little too mediocre.
I had a good time playing the game (what I wasn’t cursing checkpoint respawns) but it’s hard to recommend with so many other higher-quality titles available.
My advice would be to wait for a gaming drought and pick the game up for $20 and you’ll enjoy it much more than those who shelled out the full $60.
Adios Turok,
enjoy Hawaii!

Dear Microsoft,
This has got to be some kind of sick joke. Not once have I had a problem with any of my video game consoles, even dating back to my first Intellivision. I still have a working NES, Virtual Boy, Dreamcast, PS2 and original Xbox - yet tomorrow I am going to have to return to Best Buy to pick up my FOURTH Xbox 360.
In fact, at this point I don’t believe I can find a single person on my friends list who has only had one Xbox 360. I love the console, I love the games, so please do not take this out of context when I say your hardware is a pile of shit. FOUR Microsoft, count em, FOUR Xbox 360s!?!?! What does that tell you?
The worst part is, my console has not red-ringed so if I did not have a replacement plan with Best Buy I would be shit out of luck. What happened this time was the 360 decided to no longer output video.
I tried changing cables, switching inputs and even trying a second TV - all to no avail. The unit powers on, the startup jingle plays but not a single display appears on screen.
I am at the point where I just throw my hands in the air and call bullshit on these shenanigans. If it wasn’t for the quality of my friends list I would gladly switch to a PS3.
Seriously, what the fuck!??!
Love,
Tengaport

Against my better judgment I picked up Wipeout Pulse for the PSP. I thought Wipeout Pure was a fantastic game on the PSP, even despite the fact that I was terrible at it. Same goes for Pulse. The additions of custom soundtracks, wifi play, and the visual elements improve on an already stellar racing game - yet I still absolute suck at it.
I’m doing my best to learn the tracks and the handling of the vehicles, and having my own music playing is certainly helping - but once the difficulty ramps up I am left in the dust.

Even though my gaming cup more than floweth over, I picked up some new (to me at least) games today. First up is Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for the 360. I had a good time with the RSV’s co-op mode and I’m hoping for more of the same the second time around. I never got into the multiplayer too much, but then again i didn’t venture out into it all that much. Will make sure to check it all out before trading this away too soon like I did with the first game.
Next up on the PSP is my first ever purchase of a Grand Theft Auto game with Vice City Stories. I previously had never had any real interest in the series, not to mention some moral objections to the game’s content, but the hype wagon for the GTA4 has gotten me hooked. I figured for $1.66 I’d give the series a shot on the PSP.
