Last weekend while the wife was napping I was getting in some gametime on the 360. I didn’t feel like playing Burnout Paradise (the disc that was currently in the 360’s tray) and was too lazy to get up and actually switch it out (true story). With that, I made my way to the marketplace and downloaded the full version of Castle Crashers. I had tried the demo and enjoyed it, and figured this was a perfect opportunity to check out more of the game.
The game clocks in at 1,200 MS points (that’s $14.99 for me) so it’s more expensive than any other Live Arcade game I’ve purchased, but after nearly a full week with the game I’m happy to say it has been worth every penny. Even the wife has gotten on-board, and we’ve been having nightly co-op marathons.
What can I say about the game - the music is great, I love the art style, the humor cracks me up, and it’s just a blast to play. That qualifies it a hit in my not-so-professional opinion. I know price is a big obstacle for people when they look at this game, but amount of effort that went into this game is most assuredly worth your $15.
I was disappointed to find out The Behomoth Store sole out of the figures. I’ve been trying to resist bidding on them on eBay, but the temptation is far too great. I did try my hand and making my own paper craft knights, but after nearly severing my finger with an X-Acto knife I decided it was time to give it up.
For me, Castle Crashers is one of those games that completely infects you. I close my eyes and I see the images, I listen closely and I can hear the sounds and all I want to do while sitting here at work is rush home to play more.
Tell me that isn’t worth $15

Been debating heavily lately on picking up a PS3. My mouse has been hovering the ‘add to shopping cart’ button for quite some time now. Up until this current generation of consoles I was a multi-system kinda guy. I had an Xbox, Gamecube and a PS2 all tucked away gently underneath my TV.
This was of course before I owned my own home and had a mortgage payment to contend with every month. That reoccurring factory, and Xbox Live have kept me as a single console guy (not counting portables mind you). Lately however I have been feeling a nagging urge to pick up a buddy for my Xbox 360, and the PS3 is the only logical choice for me.
Since the game I want most for the system isn’t even out (I’m looking at you Little Big Planet) I’m trying to figure out if I’m drawn to the PS3 for it’s current games, or because it’s new and shiny. Sure, I can pretend to be sensible and say I’m picking it it up for it’s Blu-Ray capabilities but that is total BS. Not that I wont gladly start buying Blu-Ray discs, but at the end of the day it is in fact a Playstation.
Do I need two gaming systems these days? or more appropriately, do I have time for two gaming systems these days?
What to do… what to do…

Ev gave the okay for a Walt Disney World weekend, but I’ve been having problems getting the pieces to fit. I originally wanted to get to WDW in October for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but I could get either flights or a hotel - but not both.
Sure there were plenty of flights and hotels available, and if I was in a position to drop $5,000 on weekend I would’ve booked them - but I’m looking to do this trip for slightly less, say around $500.
I was going to book us at Port Orleans - French Quarter, but I hesitated yesterday and now the resort is no longer available.
What is currently Available is the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Port Orleans - Riverside and The Caribbean Beach Resort.
I’m torn, but leaning towards the Animal Kingdom Lodge - as it is my favorite. I still haven’t been able to find flights for this particular weekend yet, so we’ll see…
