How to waste $7
Against my better judgment today I decided to plunk down some cash and download Galaga to my cell phone. I was worried how the game would handle being controlled by the touch screen only, but how bad could it be, right?
Well, it’s bad – REALLY bad. First off, the LG Dare (my phone) does not have a multi-touch touchscreen so you can either move or fire, you can’t do both simultaneously. For games like Galaga that simply won’t do. Aside from being unable to do two things at once, trying to move your ship around is futile. The ‘virtual d-pad’ on the screen is too frustrating to deal with, and while you can just push left or right of your ship to move I kept hitting the ‘pause’ and menu buttons while trying to do so.
It didn’t take long for me to realize I had just flushed my $6.99 directly down the toilet and into Verizon’s sespool. Oh well, live and learn I suppose.
